install Android 2.2 Froyo on Nook Color

How To Install Android 2.2 Froyo on Nook Color
I have already explained How to Root the Nook Color and install apps and games on it. Besides that, there is one more cool thing that you can do with it – Install Android 2.2 Froyo on the Nook Color.
The Nook Color is quite powerful in terms of hardware, and considering that it is priced at $249, it is one of the cheapest Android tablet around.
B&N seems to have realized that the Nook Color cannot beat the Kindle 3 as an eReader, so it has changed the game itself. Barnes & Noble has announced that the Nook Color will be getting the official Android 2.2 Froyo update in January 2011. It will be the complete Android OS update with full Android Market access.
I would advise you to wait for that update to install Android 2.2 Froyo on your Nook Color, but if you are the adventurous type, you can try out this tutorial to Install Android 2.2 Froyo on the Nook Color. I should warn you though, it is very risky.

Motorola Xoom vs Samsung Galaxy Tab – Comparison

Samsung Galaxy Tab vs Motorola Xoom – Fight!
The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the best Android tablet currently available. The Motorola Xoom which was just announced is an excellent Android tablet too, and offers much more than the Galaxy Tab, but it will be available only by March.
In this post, I will compare the two – Motorola Xoom vs Samsung Galaxy Tab

Motorola Xoom vs Samsung Galaxy Tab
Design
Both the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab have roughly the same design and form factor with a few changes. While the Motorola Xoom has a bigger display, the Galaxy Tab is much more portable. It boils down to whether you want a bigger but bulkier device, or a portable one.
Display
The Motorola Xoom has a 10.1 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The Galaxy Tab has a smaller 7 inch TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Again, it boils down to personal choice. Portability vs Size.
OS
The Motorola Xoom comes with Android 3.0 Honeycomb – the latest version of Android made specifically for tablets. The Galaxy Tab comes with Android 2.2 Froyo. Both of them will have their custom UIs. Android 3.0 is obviously much better suited to tablets. The Motorola Xoom is the clear winner in this category.
Hardware
The Motorola Xoom comes with a 1 GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and 1 GB RAM while the Galaxy Tab has a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor with 512 MB RAM. The Xoom comes with 32 GB internal storage while the Galaxy Tab offers 16 GB. Clearly, the Motorola Xoom is twice as better as the Galaxy Tab in this category.
Multimedia
The Motorola Xoom will come with a 5 MP camera and is capable of 1080p HD video playback, while the Galaxy Tab can only handle 720p. The Xoom also has a 5 MP camera with dual LED flash while the Galaxy Tab has a 3.15 MP camera. The Xoom has a 2 MP secondary camera while the Galaxy Tab has a 1.3 MP secondary camera.
Again, the Motorola Xoom is the better choice.
Connectivity
Both the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab have almost similar connectivity options – 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS etc. The Motorola Xoom will get a 4G LTE connectivity upgrade while the Galaxy Tab is limited to 3G. Xoom wins.
The Verdict
The Motorola Xoom is undoubtedly the better Android tablet offering. It is much more powerful, has a better OS, better camera and better connectivity. But if you want portability, the Galaxy Tab is still your best bet.
Note: Samsung has announced an upgraded version of the Galaxy Tab. It will comes with a 5 MP camera, 1.2 GHz processor and 4G LTE connectivity. It might also get Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

amsung Galaxy S 2 Review: First Look

The Samsung Galaxy S 2 will be the successor to the best Android phone of 2010 – the Samsung Galaxy S. It is supposed to launch today at MWC 2011. In this preview, I will give you a quick run-around of what you can expect with the Samsung Galaxy S 2.
Samsung Galaxy S 2 Specifications
Display: 4.3 inch SuperAMOLED Plus display, 800 x 480 pixels
OS: Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Processor: 1 GHz dual core processor (Exynos)
RAM: 1 GB RAM
Memory: 32 GB internal memory
Camera: 8 MP camera with autofocus and flash
Connectivity: Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HSPA+
Design
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 is a bit bigger than the Galaxy S, thanks to the larger 4.3 inch display, but is both lighter (116 gms) and slimmer (8.49 mm) than its predecessor.
It is quite stylish and looks great. It also has a much better 4.3 inch SuperAMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The display is brighter, offers more contrast and is more power efficient than SuperAMOLED displays. Watching movies and reading ebooks should be a pleasure on the Galaxy S 2.
OS and Hardware
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the TouchWiz UI and Swype. It will have a 1 GHz dual core processor and 1 GB RAM with 16 GB / 32 GB internal storage. It is as powerful as some Android tablets which will be launched soon.
Multimedia
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 will come with an 8 MP camera with AF and flash and will also offer full HD video recording and playback. It will be one of the best mobile cameras ever.
Connectivity:
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 should offer all the standard connectivity options – Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HSPA+ etc. Browsing the web will be a great experience on this powerful device with a huge display.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy S 2 could very well be the Android smartphone of 2011. It has the design, hardware, OS, camera and all the features that might be needed to take the pole position again. If I had loads of cash, this is the phone I would be going for.

Buy Samsung Galaxy S LCD I9003 in India – Best Android Phone Under Rs 20000
Buy Samsung Galaxy S LCD I9003 at Flipkart

The Samsung Galaxy S has clearly been the best Android phone of 2010. But it was a bit too expensive for many Android fans, and still is, at Rs 27,000. It is in such high demand that Samsung hasn’t had to lower the prices at all.
However, with new phones like the Samsung Infuse 4G and the Samsung Galaxy S 2 coming soon, the Galaxy S is no longer a viable option, at its current price.
Samsung has launched another new phone in February, which is exactly identical to the Galaxy S, but sports a Super Clear LCD display instead of the Super AMOLED display in the Galaxy S.
It is called the Samsung Galaxy S LCD, or the Galaxy SL i9003. Samsung has priced it at Rs. 19,499 which makes it an excellent option for anyone who wants to buy an Android phone under Rs. 20000.
The only difference between the Galaxy S (27000) and the Galaxy S LCD (19500) is that the Galaxy S comes with a SuperAMOLED display while the Galaxy S LCD comes with a Super Clear LCD display.
I guess Samsung wants to get all the fence sitters who couldn’t get the Galaxy S to buy it before it launches the Galaxy S 2.
Buy Samsung Galaxy S LCD in India
It is available online at Flipkart, for Rs 19,499 which is probably the cheapest in India.

Best Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones

By Joseph Hanlon on 08 April 2008
Are you someone who pretends you're on the phone while waiting to be served at your favourite cafe?

With Wi-Fi hotspots popping up everywhere, the need to pretend is diminishing as the freedom to connect to the Web from your mobile handset is becoming more readily available. Note the operative word in that sentence is free(dom). Not only is connecting to a Wi-Fi hotspot convenient, but it also means you're dodging the exorbitantly priced mobile data costs currently charged by carriers.
Below is a list of our favourite Wi-Fi capable handsets. The majority of these devices are business-centric smartphones, but look out for Wi-Fi creeping into more consumer-targeted, media-focussed phones as the year rolls on.

Modu T Sets Record for Lightest Touch Phone

Smartphone maker Modu has won the Guinness World Record for producing the lightest touch phone. The Modu T is a tiny (2.2-inch) phone that is the core of the company’s modular phone system. Modu phones slip into a variety of “jackets” that turn the phone into a gadget aimed at serving different purposes. There are jackets that turn the Modu T into a camera, exercise phone, audio player and a texting phone.

The company claims the Modu T will be coming to market soon, but have supplied no details where and when. We first covered the Modu phone system earlier this year when ASUS was reported to be working on a netbook that used a Modu phone for connectivity. That netbook has not come to market yet.
The Modu T phone is based on the BREW platform, and has a touch screen and 3G connectivity. It’s a fully functioning phone on its own, but requires one of the jackets to gain many of the functions associated with smartphones of today. The company is reported to be working on an Android version of the Modu phone for release in the future.

The 35 Best iPhone Apps Of The Year (So Far)

Alex Ahlund Aug 15, 2009

This guest post was written by Alex Ahlund, founder of AppVee.
We are just past of a year since the App Store launched and there are more than 60,000 applications released for the iPhone and iPod Touch. When we wrote our 2008 year-end app wrap-up, we had just surpassed the 10,000 app milestone. In early June 2009, the store reached 50,000 apps. At present, we are looking at a staggering 300 new applications being released every single day. How does the average iPhone user find the gems in this deluge?
Unfortunately, the process is entirely overwhelming for the average iPhone user. The bulk of consumers use iTunes’ Top and front page listings. Since placement on the top lists is derived entirely from unit sales, there is a disturbing skew towards the $.99 applications. This not only discourages big developers from putting high budgets and serious resources towards development of really useful applications and games, but also does a disservice to us, as iPhone users. If all we see are ninety-nine cent gimmicks and toys, how will we realize the true potential of our device? Apple attempts to offset this with editor’s picks, but this simply isn’t enough to make sense of the App Store.
There are new third party services and tools coming onto the scene to help show how to best navigate the App Store. AppVee has been doing in-depth reviews of applications since the launch of the App Store and will soon celebrate our one-year anniversary with nearly 1,000 video reviews of the top applications. We’re often asked if we are overwhelmed with the number of applications currently released and the number we are capable of covering. The answer is no. 90% of apps currently out there are of no use to anyone. There are a massive number of clones, one-off gimmicks, volumes of books and reference material, and a never-ending supply of uninteresting games. So, we try to act as a filter for consumers, directing them to what is worth their time and money.
The following is a round-up of our top picks so far this year:
Most practical
1. Slacker Radio
A fantastic alternative to Pandora, which carries a larger catalog and offers Premium accounts that offers something we’ve always loathed about Pandora – unlimited song skips. (Similar: Pandora, WunderRadio, Last.fm)
http://www.youtube.com/v/lPFdmjR30kM&hl=en&fs=1&
2. Hey Where Are You
A beautifully simple application that takes advantage of Push Notification, by letting users ask and answer the question “Hey, Where Are You?” (Similar: Loopt)
3. Textfree Unlimited
Currently the best alternative to high SMS plan costs, offering free text messaging using Push Notification.
http://www.youtube.com/v/S4hiEGo9Hv4&color1=0xb1b1b1&color2=0xcfcfcf&hl=en&feature=player_embedded&fs=1
4. Bento
Create simple databases to store information about every aspect of your life.
5. TweetDeck
Our new, favorite Twitter client that takes advantage of the same layout as its desktop counterpart – multiple columns, separation of user groups, and more. (Similar: Tweetie, Twinkle, TwitterFON)
6. Print and Share
Print files, emails, web pages, contacts, images and even snapshots direct from your camera, straight to your home printer. Simple setup and works perfectly.
7. Flight Tracker
Watch flights in real-time and get up-to-the-minute arrival and departure times. This has saved me countless delayed pick-ups from the airport.
http://www.youtube.com/v/5Gr_hG3t1zE&hl=en&fs=1&
8. Read It Later
Store any web page for offline reading or to mark as a reminder to read. A bit tricky to setup at first, but it will quickly replace bookmarking for articles.
http://www.youtube.com/v/dlKua91ix28&hl=en&fs=1&
9. iEmoji
Activate emoticons in your keyboard to include in emails and text messages. Works only for iPhones, but the end reader does not need the app to see emoticons in your texts.
10. Birthday Reminder
Rarely check Facebook to see upcoming birthdays? This app downloads all of that information so you can access and easily see upcoming bdays offline.
11. Mover
Swap contacts and photos with other iPhones in an easy way. Requires both users to have the application, but it is free and quick to download. (Similar: Bump)
12. Simplify Music 2
Listen to your entire music library from your home computer, streamed quickly and without any lag. (Similar: Simply Music, imeem)
http://www.youtube.com/v/4Y5PePeyqTY&hl=en&fs=1&
13. Cell Minute Tracker
We prefer Cell Minute Tracker to AT&T’s minute tracker any day. Much simpler, easy to navigate and much faster.
14. QuickOffice
Edit Word and Excel documents on the go.
15. Photogene
There are a multitude of photo editing apps out there, but you really only need one. Crop, rotate, adjust colors, and add filters with Photogene. (Similar: Camera Bag)
16. Skype
Superb quality Skype-to-Skype over WiFi using the Skype application. Finally be free of your computer and microphone to make those long distance calls. (Similar: Truphone)
17. Kindle
Skeptical at first, but found eBook reader surprisingly easy on the eyes and good for taking in a quick chapter. Offers plenty of free content, but won’t be replacing your physical Kindle.
18. Beejive IM 3.0
We mentioned this on last year’s roundup, but it deems reiteration. So far, the best multi-IM service client on the iPhone, now with Push Notification. AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, and more.
19. Redlaser
Extremely reluctant to include this on the list, but it does deserve a bottom slot. Scan UPC codes for price comparisons on the go, but wait for an update for improved scanning and database.
Best Games
20. Real Racing
Standard track based racing game, but has the best graphics on an iPhone game to-date. Worth it alone to see what the iPhone is capable of.
http://www.youtube.com/v/pAysP1HM6Z4&hl=en&fs=1&
21. Sims 3
Slightly watered down Sims 3, but still an excellent version on the go. Fantastic graphics and runs well.
22. My Brute
Create a fighter and compete in daily arena matches. Very simplistic, but highly addicting and will bring you back daily.
23. Mecho Wars
Advanced Wars for your iPhone and iPod Touch, enough said. Interesting art style and background story.
24. Zenonia
The first fully featured traditional 2D action RPG for your iPhone and iPod Touch.
25. Peggle
The time sucking, simple Pachinko style casual PC game from PopCap ported to your device.
26. Marble Blast Mobile
Another PC game port where you roll your marble through various levels, filled with obstacles and hazards.
http://www.appvee.com/t/iphone-app-review-marble-blast-mobile
http://www.youtube.com/v/nTSqLzW3LYQ&hl=en&fs=1&
27. Myst
Do we even need to explain this one?
28. Merlin’s Legacy
An original IP based around two dueling wizards, battling for control across a 2D side-scrolling field. Interesting game mechanic based on spells and timing.
29. Assassin’s Creed
A smaller version of Assassin’s Creed on your iPhone and iPod Touch. Plays rather smoothly and provides solid entertainment.
30. Oregon Trail
The classic Oregon Trail, updated with fantastic graphics and animation. Will keep you entertained just like when you were in school. Try not to die of dysentery.
31. Rolando 2
The sequel to the popular game of rolling little Rolandos around to save the kingdom. Your hands may cramp from hours of play.
Fun Timewasters
32. Doodle Jump
Dominated the Top 25 list for quite a while. Accelerometer based movement—you guide your Doodle to bounce off platforms, jumping to the highest point possible as you avoid getting hit.
33. Mouth Off
Cover your mouth with your device and show off an assortment of crazy mouths that animate to the input sound of your voice. I’ve annoyed dining mates with this one more than once.
http://www.youtube.com/v/s-EZpv62IyM&hl=en&fs=1
34. Pocket God
Well done, episodic content based on a simple toy of dealing with your islanders. Fun to show off to friends and receive new updates.
35. Flight Control
Elegantly simple and highly addictive game. You direct various planes to different landing strips, all the while trying to avoid collisions. Updated with Bluetooth device co-op.

Most Wanted: Top 5 mobile phones coming later in 2007

top5-choogle.jpgIt's all about the upgrades, innit. Your mum might still be clinging on to the mobile phone she bought six years ago, but if you're a proper geek like us, you'll get itchy fingers when your phone's approaching its first birthday.
With that in mind, here's a guide to seven of the most keenly-anticipated mobiles coming our way later in the year (obviously, for anyone outside the US, Apple's iPhone is the eighth). Which one will be giving your credit-card a bashing?
1. LG's Chocolate Google phone (left). Or, as it's known to its retailers, the KU-580. There are two things to know about this phone. First, it's basically the next generation of LG's iconic Chocolate handset. But secondly, it's the first to benefit from a deal with Google that means Google Search, Gmail and Google Maps will all be preloaded on it. The two-inch widescreen display, two-megapixel camera and Bluetooth audio only add to its appeal. MORE INFO
top5-o2cocoon.jpg2. O2 Cocoon (right). A sleek white clamshell phone that's due out in August, it's aimed firmly at music fans, with 2GB of memory to store tracks, plus the ability to play DRM-free iTunes Plus files, and an FM tuner. Londoners get an extra bonus too – if you walk into The O2 Arena venue for a gig, Cocoon will automatically detect the location and offer up all manner of content. MORE INFO
top5-sonyericw960.jpg3. Sony Ericsson W960 (left). Is it an iPhone killer? Well, it has a touch-screen, 8GB of internal memory, and promises up to 27 hours of battery life for music. What it's got above Apple's handset is 3G, of course, while the built-in Wi-Fi will also come in handy for high-speed surfing. All this, plus a 3.2-megapixel camera and Bluetooth audio. MORE INFO
top5-bberrypearl.jpg4. BlackBerry Pearl 2 (right). RIM got some of its mojo back with the BlackBerry Pearl, so it's no surprise the follow-up is hotly anticipated. Sadly, most of the buzz around its features is highly made up speculative – apparently it'll have a 3.2-megapixel camera, Flash, 6x digital zoom, a 3.5mm headset jack, Wi-Fi and stereo Bluetooth. Oh, and you can email on it. Obviously. MORE INFO
top5-motorazr2.jpg5. Motorola RAZR 2 (left). The original RAZR phone was a huge attention-grabber – so much so that Motorola proceeded to run with the design for several other handsets. Now the proper sequel is here, and it's even slimmer (albeit by just 2mm), has a bunch of music features and a two-megapixel camera. In truth, the specs aren't super-impressive, but it's the design that'll tempt the millions of RAZR owners thinking about an upgrade. MORE INFO

World’s Most Expensive BlackBerries

by jeremy on October 5, 2009 ·
RIM’s BlackBerry has come a long way in the years since its introduction as a two-way pager in 1999. Known for its push e-mail feature, the BlackBerry series held a place among the elite smartphones before anyone had even heard of an iPhone.
If that doesn’t scream “Cover it in diamonds,” well, I don’t know what does.
World's Most Expensive BlackBerries - Amosu BlackBerry Pearl Diamond Edition
Amosu BlackBerry Pearl Diamond Edition – $88,000
Amosu released their BlackBerry Pearl Diamond Edition in 2008. The diamonds used to make this particular phone were recyclable—owners could have them refit to their next BlackBerry when the Pearl became obsolete. The Amosu BlackBerry even came with a year of access to an exclusive concierge service allowing purchasers to enjoy a variety of luxury services.
World's Most Expensive BlackBerries - Amosu Curva Diamond BlackBerry
Amosu Curva Diamond BlackBerry – $191,000
Not one to rest on his laurels, Alexander Amosu has created a brand new exclusive BlackBerry customization. The Amosu Curva is covered in 4,494 brilliant cut VS1 diamonds totalling about 28.42 carats set in a coat of 18-karat gold. The best part, though, is that only three of these luxury smartphones will ever be made. Each purchaser will have the option of having their name engraved on the back. Like Amosu’s previous offering, Amosu Curva owners will enjoy a free year-long global concierge service in 44 cities.
World's Most Expensive BlackBerries - Knalihs Athem BlackBerry Bold Limited Diamond Edition
Knalihs Athem BlackBerry Bold Limited Diamond Edition – ???
Swiss luxury designer Knalihs Athem has also created a suitably expensive BlackBerry. Each Knalihs Athem BlackBerry Bold Limited Diamond Edition is customized with the buyer’s choice of pink, yellow, black, champagne and white diamonds. The back of the phone is also customized with leather, crocodile or snake skin, or denim—each available in at least two different colors. Of course, it also has all the standard features of the BlackBerry Bold. Unfortunately, the price of Knalihs Athem’s expensive BlackBerry seems to have been filed under “If you have to ask, you’ll never know.”

Top 10 Luxury iPhone Cases

by jeremy on May 21, 2010 ·
Why not spend some money to protect your precious iPhone? These luxury iPhone cases are made from carbon fiber, Tuscan leather, mahogany, ostrich skin, alligator skin and even gold embellished with diamonds and have prices ranging from $180 to over $100,000.
10. Ultra Case Luxury Edition Royal Crown – $179.99
Top 10 Luxury iPhone Cases - Luxury Edition Royal Crown
The enormous, heart-shaped artificial crystal affixed to the back is this case’s claim to cost. It also features a stunning array of Swarovski crystals topped with a jeweled crown that will let everyone around you know who’s in charge. This case isn’t for anyone who values a slim case, however, as the decorations make the encased phone at least half again as deep as the phone itself.
9. SGP Ott-Paint Ultra Thin Limited Edition Gariz Case – $249.99
Top 10 Luxury iPhone Cases - SGP Ott-Paint Ultra Thin Limited Edition Gariz Case
This case, created jointly by Gariz Design and United SGP Corporation, is beautifully painted with Ott, a special chemical paint that is not only flame retardant and heat resistant but also waterproof, mothproof, antiseptic and antibacterial. The case comes with a leather sleeve and protectors for both the screen and Apple logo. If you want one, though, you’d better hurry—only 50 of these premium, individually numbered cases will be produced.
Luxury iPhone Cases - Swarovski Wildcat
8. Swarovski Wildcat
$299.99

Featuring Swarovski crystals arranged by hand in a leopard-spot pattern, each of these luxury iPhone cases is completely unique. The easily snapped-on case is supposed to be as protective as it is aesthetically pleasing, but Ultra Case doesn’t list the materials used to create the “crystal hard case.”
Luxury iPhone cases - Orbino Strada
7. Orbino Strada
up to $319

There are other iPhone cases out there made of the “finest” Italian leather, but what makes the Strada unique is its patented belt clip/pedestal. Not only is this belt clip removable, it’s also made of palladium metal and it can even be used to prop up your iPhone so you can watch videos at your desk. After all, you probably don’t have any other viewing apparatus there. The Strada also features a screen protector and connector access. Oh, it’s also hand-stitched. That automatically makes it at least twice as good. The Strada starts at $99, but you can pay more to get one made from one of a variety of gentle woodland creatures—from ostriches ($249) to crocodiles ($319).
Luxury iPhone Cases - GlitterRing iPhone Cover
6. GlitterRing iPhone Cover – $379-$399
GlitterRing’s one- and two-piece iPhone cases come in a variety of designs. Whether you’re partial to “Puffy Pink” or “Golden Swirl,” you can get it slathered on your iPhone 3G or 3GS in the form of over 1,000 genuine Swarovski crystals. In case of damage, GlitterRing’s premium cases even include a repair kit with extra crystals.
Luxury iPhone Cases - iWood + Ryou
5. iWood + Ryou – $454
Miniot’s iWood case has been upgraded at the hands of Ryou Co., Ltd. and Urushi lacquerer Seiichiro Fujino. The artist uses Chinese raw lacquer, clear lacquer, pigment and silver foil to turn one of Miniot’s already posh cherry iWood casts into true works of art.
4. Softbank BB Samurai iPhone cases
$1,000

Luxury iPhone Cases - Softbank BB Samurai cases
Softbank BB is bringing the aesthetic appeal of traditional Japanese lacquerware to your iPhone. These five cases commemorate five famous samurai from Japan’s storied history—(from left to right) conquerer Oda Nobunaga; one-eyed warlord Date Masamune; tactician and “Dragon of Echigo,” Uesagi Kenshin; famed lover Naoe Kanetsugu and triumphant underdog Yukimura Sanada. The cases were created in collaboration with 350-year-old lacquerware company Zohiko and each design comes with a different cloth pouch.
3. Louis Vuitton iPhone cases
up to $1,120

Luxury iPhone Cases - Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton is now offering four different flavors of iPhone case: Monogram Canvas, Taiga Leather, Epi Leather and Alligator Skin. Everyone knows adding the LV logo to something makes it practically priceless. But these prices range from $225 for the Monogram Canvas case to $1120 for the Alligator Skin case. Unfortunately, these costly cases commit the cardinal sin of covering the phone’s screen.
Luxury iPhone cases - Diamond iPhone Case
2. Diamond iPhone Case
$20,000

If you think buying a case worth fifty times the phone it carries makes perfect sense, then this is the case for you. With its 42 VVS1 diamonds (3.5 carats), it’s the most bling for your buck. That’s only $5,714 per carat. Great deal, huh?
1. GnG “Golden Delicious”

The case features a 1mm subshell made with 140 grams of 18k gold, a carbon fiber inlay and about 200 diamonds. The outer frame features another 400 diamonds in the logo, which may be customized. Most Expensive iPhone Case

by jeremy on February 17, 2008 ·
Is your iPhone impressive enough for you? Do you find that it’s just a little too pedestrian? If you answered “Yes!” to either of those questions, then a German-based company called GnG may have just what you need. Consisting of two guys—Gerrit Guggenberger and Martin Gadalla—with a rather, uh, interesting slogan, GnG has delivered a world-class drubbing to any competition for the most expensive iPhone case.
This extravagant iPhone case is the culmination of twelve months of development. The case features a 1mm subshell made with 140 grams of 18k gold, a carbon fiber inlay and about 200 diamonds. The outer frame features another 400 diamonds in the logo, which may be customized.
The pictured “Golden Delicious” (ha-ha) case is €77,777—US $108,981. As a customizable luxury item, however, prices may vary widely based on the materials needed.

Most Expensive Blackberry Case

by jeremy on May 9, 2008 ·
If you were at CES 2008, you may have had the chance to win a Diamond Blackberry Curve Case. If you weren’t the lucky winner or if you weren’t even there, then you can still acquire one through Case-Mate’s website. Of course, if you go that route you’ll be paying top dollar for the world’s most expensive Blackberry case.
World's most expensive Blackberry case
The forty-two vvs1 diamonds that went into the creation of this case weigh in at 3.5 carats and are set in 18-karat gold. The emblem on the back of the case is made of the same quality of gold. Even the carbon fiber leather, specially developed for the case, is gold. In fact, a total of fifteen grams of gold were used to make this expensive phone case. Of course, the case is as protective as it is luxurious—the plastic is impact resistant and the screen is entirely protected.
The number of Diamond Blackberry Curve Cases is so limited that it was originally reported that the one given away at CES was the only one. That may have been true at the time, but now the world’s most expensive Blackberry case can be purchased directly from Case-Mate for $20,000. We dare you to find a more expensive case than that.

World’s Most Expensive iPhones

by jeremy on October 14, 2010 ·
While Apple’s iPhone is already something of a luxury device, there are clearly some who believe it just isn’t flashy enough. Luckily for them (and those of us who write about such things), luxury designers have created these—the most expensive iPhones in the world.
World's Most Expensive iphones - Goldstriker iPhone 4G Diamond Edition
Goldstriker iPhone 4G Diamond Edition – $19,460
Stuart Hughes of Goldstriker International presents the iPhone 4G Diamond Edition, likely the first of a bevy of luxury editions of Apple’s latest iPhone. Hughes has adorned the phone’s surrounding metal band with 6.5 carats of VVS diamonds and, on the back, recreated Apple’s iconic logo in platinum and diamonds. The iPhone 4G Diamond Edition has 32 GB of memory and is factory unlocked so you can enjoy it regardless of your wireless carrier. It also comes with an ostrich-foot wallet with pockets for up to four credit cards. If you want the phone, though, you’ll have to act soon–only 50 will be made.
Most Expensive iPhone - The Princess Plus
Peter Aloisson’s iPhone Princess Plus – $176,400
The Princess Plus got its name from the Princess cut used on 138 of the 318 diamonds on its surface. The other 180 diamonds on the phone were brilliant-cut. In total, the phone has 17.75 carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold around its rim. The iPhone Princess Plus is worth $176,400 while the somewhat more pedestrian “Brilliants only” version sold for $66,150.
World's Most Expensive iPhone - Kings Button
Peter Aloisson’s Kings Button iPhone – $2.4 million
The Kings Button iPhone is, like its predecessor, a jewel-bedecked iPhone. This time, however, Aloisson had the iPhone 3G to play with—and, apparently, a bit of a bigger budget. One hundred and thirty-eight brilliant-cut diamonds line the sides of the phone, but the real prize is the home button—a rare 6.6 carat white diamond.
Goldstriker iPhone 3GS Supreme – $3.2 million
World's Most Expensive iPhones - Goldstriker iPhone 3GS Supreme
Stuart Hughes is known for giving luxury devices such as phones and video game consoles the “Supreme” treatment—covering them with gold and diamonds—and the iPhone is no exception. The iPhone 3GS Supreme features a casing made from 271 grams of solid 22k gold and a screen trimmed with fifty-three 1-carat diamonds. The home button is covered with a single rare 7.1-carat diamond. That’s not all, though—the iPhone 3GS Supreme comes in a chest carved from a single block of granite and sports Kashmir gold and an interior lining made with nubuck top-grain leather.
Stuart Hughes iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition – $8 million
World's Most Expensive iPhones - iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition
If you thought his iPhone 3GS Supreme was impressive, check out the latest iPhone from Stuart Hughes–the iPhone 4 Diamond Rose Edition. Hughes has recreated the infamous antenna band that wraps around the sides of the latest iPhone, as well as the backplate, using rose gold. The band is adorned with 100 carats of flawless diamonds, and the Apple logo is formed with fifty-three more diamonds. Once again, the home button gets the most love–it’s made of platinum and features a rare 7.4-carat pink diamond.
The phone comes in an imperial pink 7-kilogram chest cut from a single block of granite and lined with nubuck top-grain leather. It also comes with an 8-carat flawless diamond that can be used in place of the pink one.
Only two of these expensive phones will be made.

World’s Most Expensive Cell Phones

by tom on October 11, 2010 ·
Most people enjoy having a quality cell phone, but they also recognize that cellular phones are a consumable good and will have to be replaced within in a few years. For this reason, people often do not purchase the most expensive cell phone when they purchase their mobile. Some, though, must have a costly mobile phone. The world’s most expensive cell phones were made to satisfy just that type of person.
Ulysse Nardin’s The Chairman – up to $49,500
World's Most Expensive Cell Phones - Ulysse Nardin's The Chairman
The Chairman by Ulysse Nardin is the world’s most expensive Android smartphone, and includes both a touch screen and a physical number pad. The Ulysse Nardin name is most often associated with luxury watches and that fact shows in the Chairman’s sophisticated design. The volume controls look like watch buttons and the crown between them can actually be wound to generate power for the device. In fact, the phone features a kinetic rotor power system visible through the backplate.
World's Most Expensive Cell Phones - Nokia 8800 Arte with pink diamonds
Nokia 8800 Arte with pink diamonds
$134,000

Designed by Peter Aloisson, this solid 18k white gold phone features over 680 pink and white brilliant cut diamonds totaling over 21.5 carats. Some of the phone’s features are a 3.15 MP camera with autofocus and video, a music player, Bluetooth and voice memo.
Most Expensive iPhone - The Princess Plus

Sony Ericsson Black Diamond – $300,000
World's Most Expensive Cell Phones - Sony Ericsson Black Diamond
The price of this phone comes from actual state of the art technology instead of a bunch of shiny rocks—but that doesn’t mean it lacks visual appeal. OLED technology underneath the polycarbonate skin that covers the phones entire face gives the 4 megapixel screen a borderless look. The mirror finish gives the phone a sleek, futuristic look.
World's Most Expensive Cell Phones - Vertu Signature Cobra
Vertu Signature Cobra
$310,000

This gaudy phone is so exclusive that only eight will ever be made. Designed by French jeweler Boucheron, the Signature Cobra is made with two diamonds, two emeralds and 439 rubies. For buyers who are only filthy rich, rather than obscenely rich, twenty-six of the less flashy (read: no rubies) Signature Python phones will be available for a mere $115,000. Both phones will feature the real draw—they have frikkin’ snakes on them. Awesome.
Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot – $1 million
World's Most Expensive Cell Phones - Gresso Luxor Las Vegas Jackpot
This ultra-exclusive phone, limited to only three units, truly lives up to its name. Not only is it extraordinarily expensive, but its Egypt-inspired design will look right at home in the hands of a Vegas high-roller. The phone features 45.5 carats of black diamonds decorating the bezel and a back panel made from 200-year-old African blackwood—the most expensive wood in the world. As if that weren’t enough to ensure the Jackpot a place among the world’s most expensive mobile phones, each key is cut from a hand-polished sapphire crystal. All of these luxurious materials are set in a 180-gram solid gold frame.
The Diamond Crypto Smartphone – $1.3 million
World’s most expensive cell phone
Created by luxury accessory producer Peter Aloisson of Moscow-based JSC Ancort, this luxury smartphone’s price stems from the platinum body, the cover adorned with 50 diamonds—including eight that are rare blue diamonds. Additionally, the Ancort logo and the navigation key are made of 18k rose gold. Built on the Windows CE, this expensive cell also features a high-resolution color TFT display and a 256 bit cryptographic algorithm. This expensive mobile phone features SMS, MMS, E-mail and Internet capability, WAP, JAVA support and even a media player.
GoldVish ‘Le Million’ Piece Unique
$1.3 million

World’s most expensive cell phone
Guinness World Records certified GoldVish SA’s ‘Le Million’ Piece Unique on January 29th, 2008. The Geneva-based luxury communications company’s expensive mobile phone was designed by Emmanuel Gueit as an addition to the Illusion Collection. The phone is made of 18k white gold and set with 20 carats of VVS1 (only microscopically flawed) diamonds. The phone also features Bluetooth, 2 GB of storage, FM radio, a digital camera and MP3 playback. This expensive cell phone is available only by special order.
World's Most Expensive iPhone - Kings Button
Peter Aloisson’s Kings Button iPhone
$2.4 million

The Kings Button iPhone is, surprisingly, a jewel-bedecked iPhone. This time, however, Aloisson had the iPhone 3G to play with—and, apparently, a bit of a bigger budget. New Motorola Android Phones Coming to Sprint, TMo

Two new Motorola phones will be heading to market in the not-too-distant future, one to Sprint and one to T-Mobile.
Sprint announced just today that they'll be making the Motorola i1 available on July 25 (via direct shipping, business, and phone channels - August 8th everywhere else) for just $149 after rebate, and assuming you're renewing or starting a new contract.
The i1 is the first Android push-to-talk device to hit the market, and includes most of the basic features we've come to expect in a smart phone, including WiFi and a 5 MP camera. Sprint also claims that the i1's solid body construction meets military specs to protect the phone from vibration, shock, dust and light rain.
The major downside? It's shipping with Android 1.5, which is completely absurd at this point, sorry Sprint. Let's hope for a fast update.
As for the T-Mobile offering, TmoNews has obtained a screenshot that has the Motorola Charm listed as launching on August 25th, confirming that despite initial delays, the Charm will, in fact become available soon.
The Charm is a candy bar style phone with full qwerty keyboard, and ships with a 600 mhz processor, 512 MB of RAM and ROM, a 2.8" screen, backtrack navigation, a 3 MP camera, Adobe Flash, and MOTOBLUR. The best part? It ships with Android 2.1 (take THAT Sprint), and rumors have it priced at only $74.99 with a 2 year contract, or $269.99 for an outright purchase.

Nokia notebook? Nokia 2011 Super product exposured

Showed at the major shopping and malls, we can see that Nokia, Samsung and other mobile phone manufacturers cell phone for sale, but in fact some of their R & D projects has been the prototype cell phone, but eventually because of strategic reasons for not available or are under development process, Today, we see this kind of a cell phone, it is said that Nokia will be launched in 2011.

Only a map from the point of view, this cell phone, code-named the Sparrow will use the newly designed semi-transparent widget gadget effects, textures look pretty good.

Best Messaging Phones 2010: Mostly Affordable Texting and Messenging QWERTY Phones

BlackBerry Torch 9800 RIM's latest BlackBerry dares to be different, and that's a good thing. The Torch 9800 has both a capacitive touch screen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. There's a new OS to go with that multi-touch display and it brings the BlackBerry into the 21st century. It's intuitive, enjoyable and quite powerful, yet veteran BlackBerry users won't find it unfamiliar. The Torch has a new Webkit web browser, a 3.2" display, the usual excellent hardware keyboard, push email galore and a heap of multimedia. Other amenities include a 5 megapixel camera, 4 gigs of storage, a GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. The Torch is certainly good enough to keep Berry addicts loyal, but is it enough fight off Android and iOS?

Samsung Epic 4G Sprint's second 4G superphone is here. The Epic 4G dares to be different with its large QWERTY keyboard that strays from the more common slate design. And it's a great keyboard with a dedicated number row, Android buttons and arrow keys. If you're a Sprint customer who lusted for the HTC EVO 4G but cringed at its on-screen keyboard, Samsung has your number. The Epic 4G is a Galaxy S family phone and it has that series' 4" Super AMOLED 800 x 480 display, 1GHz Hummingbird CPU with GPU acceleration, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Improvements include a 5 megapixel camera with flash and a front-facing VGA camera and a notification LED. The Epic runs Android OS 2.1 with Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 UI.

T-Mobile G2 The T-Mobile G2 is one of the best Android QWERTY phones on the market. It runs vanilla Android OS 2.2 Froyo, still a rarity on Android phones, and it's fast. Not just in terms of CPU speed, though the 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with GPU really impresses us, but because it has 4G in the form of HSPA+. The G2 is made by HTC and it has a 3.7" multi-touch LCD, one of the best hardware keyboards in the business, WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth, a GPS, a microSD card slot with an 8 gig card pre-loaded and a 5 megapixel camera that can shoot 720p video. The T-Mobile G2 comes with the full suite of Google Android applications, and we mean everything Google makes. T-Mobile Oct. 2010 T-Mobile G2 review $199
Motorola Droid 2 The Droid is back and it's better. With a faster CPU, an improved keyboard and Android OS 2.2 Froyo, the 1GHz Droid 2 can compete with the big boys. It doesn't stray far from the original Droid formula when it comes to size and design: the Droid 2 is still a slim, modern QWERTY slider with a 3.7" capacitive multi-touch display. The corners are now chrome-clad and rounded, and the design is a bit more conformist, but we doubt anyone will dislike the look. The Droid 2 has a full hardware QWERTY keyboard that's rare among Android superphones, 8 gigs of storage plus an 8 gig microSD card, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS that works with Google Maps and VZ Navigator and 3G Mobile Hotspot WiFi Internet connection sharing.

Palm Pixi (also Palm Pixi Plus on Verizon and Palm Pixi Plus on AT&T) Palm's second webOS smartphone is available now on Sprint. The Pixi at first glance looks like a reborn Palm Centro with it's QWERTY bar design and tiny rubbery keys. But it runs the thoroughly modern webOS and features a capacitive multi-touch display just like its big brother the Palm Pre. The Pixi costs less than the Pre but it has some good specs including a 600MHz CPU, a GPS, EV-DO Rev. A and 8 gigs of flash storage. The Sprint version comes with Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation and the rest of Sprint's services and it offers the same great cloud syncing to Exchange, Facebook and Google as the Pre. The Verizon version has VZ Navigator but no V Cast Video or V Cast Music. Is it worth saving $50 to get the Pixi instead of the Pre? Read our review to find out.

LG Ally The LG Ally is the latest Android smartphone to join Verizon's lineup and we suspect it will trounce the similarly designed but more expensive Motorola Devour. Though the LG has fairly high end specs, it doesn't get the Droid designation (we're not sure what's up with that Droid thing). It has a 3.2", 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch pinch zooming, an accelerometer and Android OS 2.1 Eclair. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is roomy and better than the Moto Droid's and call quality is tops. The phone has WiFi, Bluetooth, a GPS that works with Google Maps (no VZ Navigator here) and a 3.2 megapixel camera that takes good photos. Definitely worth a look if you're craving a reasonably priced Android smartphone with a keyboard.

Palm Pre Plus The third time around, the Palm Pre is really hitting its stride. The Pre Plus on AT&T, like the Verizon Palm Pre Plus, features 16 gigs of storage and double the RAM of the Pre on Sprint. With a 3.1" capacitive multi-touch display, a fresh yet maturing webOS, full multi-tasking and a growing app catalog, this Palm breathes life into AT&T's ailing smartphone touch screen line. Other features include an improved slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a GPS that works with Google Maps and AT&T Navigator, 3G HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth and a solid camera that can shoot VGA video. Well worth a look if the iPhone doesn't float your boat. Heck, it's worth a look even if it does.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 The baby Bold is here for those of you who found the original BlackBerry Bold 9000 too large and heavy. The Bold 9700 is narrower and lighter, while sporting the same impressive build quality as the 9000 (OK, it's a tiny bit less luxurious). It features an even higher resolution display than the first Bold, WiFi with WiFi calling on the T-Mobile version, a GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera and Bluetooth. This is the first 3G BlackBerry on T-Mobile. The 9700 is available on both T-Mobile and AT&T in the US.

Motorola Charm Got square? Motorola's Charm sure does, and we like the distinctive look. The Charm is a very affordable Android smartphone with an excellent QWERTY keyboard that requires no sliding, flipping or twirling. Like a BlackBerry, the keyboard is ever-ready and calls to you messaging and social networking types. Motorola's MOTOBLUR software is on board with its usual social focus, and it all runs on top of Android OS 2.1. The Motorola Charm has 3G, a not so wonderful QVGA display, a 3 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. The phone has a few unexpected goodies for the budget segment like Motorola's Backtrack rear trackpad, an accelerometer than handles both screen rotation and turning the phone over to ignore a call. T-Mobile Sept. 2010 Motorola Charm review $49
Samsung Restore Not into the touch screen craze? Just want a solid 3G messaging phone? The eco-friendly Samsung Restore is a full-featured messaging phone with EV-DO, Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, the Netfront web browser and a solid music player that handles MP3 and AAC iTunes format music. The Restore has a roomy slide-out QWERTY keyboard, but when closed it looks like a normal candy bar phone with a standard number pad. It has a GPS, 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth with stereo support and an SDHC microSD card slot. A nice mid-tier offering from Sprint and Samsung.

LG Lotus Elite The LG Lotus Elite is a significant upgrade to the very popular LG Lotus. This wide body QWERTY flips dares to look difference, just like the original model. But the Elite is more rounded, more solidly built and it adds two cool new features: an external QVGA touchscreen and the latest version of Sprint's OneClick UI. It supports Sprint's many services including EV-DO data, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV and Sprint Music. It has a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, an SDHC microSD card slot and a GPS. It's available in red and black is coming. This review includes a video review.
